This stand-alone Business Process editor provides the convenience of creating and modifying DEM-type process diagrams from a desktop or a laptop, making it easy for Customers and for Consultants to perform Process Modeling remotely. Including all editing features of Baan DEM (IV and V), it also provides advanced capabilities such as web-links definition and diagrams revision control. Fully integrated with EZ-Publisher, the resulting diagrams and models can be web-published within seconds.
Functions & Features
EZ-Modeler Desktop Module
- Flexible "Online" and "Offline" operation mode
- "Online" mode enables the user to log on a local or network-based EZ-Process database and view/edit process diagrams present into existing repository (DEM IV, DEM V and EZ-Process diagrams). Online mode enables the user to "download" some diagrams to perform offline editing later, and "upload" these when the diagram modifications are completed.
- "Offline" mode enables the user to create and/or edit process diagrams to be stored locally (desktop/laptop) in XML format. Multiple Business Models/Repositories can be established and managed, permitting any Consultants to work on different Client or Reference models at the same time.

EZ-Publisher Diagram Revision Control module
- Intelligent Revision Control module integrated within EZ-Publisher and EZ-Modeler.
- Enable formal and documented revision cycles for all EZ-Publisher diagrams, therefore maintaining diagram release number. Each diagram review is controlled by its incremental status (Published => In Revision => Publish for Approval => Published).
- Ability to initiate revision of a diagram while keeping current version available to consumers while performing the controlled revision on duplicate. When diagram revision is completed, automatic supercede of current version by new one.
- To facilitate the review/approval process of edited diagrams, these can be “published for approval”, enabling them to be quickly and easily available to all users responsible for the signed off of the new version. Automatic identification by watermark is provided for all diagrams published for approval.
- Includes revision/approval notification feature enabling process owner or editor to send email notifications to users responsible for diagram editing or approval.
- Ability to add revision notes with editor and date/time identification. Old version of diagrams and related notes can be kept/archived for audit trail purpose.
EZ-Modeler integration with Baan DEM
- Ability to import DEM IV diagrams (with EZ-Publisher) and edit them with EZ-Modeler.
- Ability to save DEM IV diagrams in XML format, compliant with DEM V.
- Ability to import DEM V diagrams and edit them with EZ-Modeler alone.
- All new created process diagrams (ad hoc) can be save in DEM V format.
- Ability to see Baan sessions layouts (actual screens) when editing Baan type activities, even in offline mode.
